Habitat housing project nearly finished | Community Spirit
Some time next week, Shoe Carnival will help Habitat for Humanity put some finishing touches on a housing project that began in mid-December. Over 70 Shoe Carnival employees at the corporate office have spent six hours a day for three days lending a helping hand to this Habitat for Humanity project. This project is an attempt to help provide affordable housing in Warrick County.
This project is scheduled to finish around the end of May or first of June. The Habitat of Humanity for Warrick County will dedicate the five homes on June 1 at 10:00 a.m. in Mallard Lake subdivision.
Habitat for Humanity has partnered with the Rural Development to be able to provide a USDA Self-Help housing program. This program is an attempt to provide affordable housing in Warrick County. The USDA homes are Energy Efficient, three or four bedrooms with two baths, Concrete Drive and Garage. They interest rate is as low as 1% and requires no down payment.
