Four arrested in Newburgh drug bust

Four Newburgh residents were arrested Wednesday afternoon on drug charges—two of them for the second time in less than amonth.

Newburgh police say around 4:30 PM, officers along with deputies from the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office went to 208 Cypress Street, Apartment C, to serve a Petition to Revoke Warrant on 20-year-old Taylor Dickens.  When officers arrived at the residence, they say they saw Dickens inside the residence.  However when officers knocked on the door, they saw Dickens running into a back bedroom.

Warrick County Prosecutor JoAnn Krantz announces the conviction and sentencing of Michael L. Titzer, 42, to three years at the Indiana Department of Correction suspended to probation.

Titzer was on probation for Manufacturing Methamphetamine at the time of his arrest and was ordered to serve the balance of the ten year sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction.

Warrick County man gets nine years for residential break-ins

Warrick County Prosecutor JoAnn Krantz announces the conviction and sentencing of Thomas Clayton Madden, 34, to nine years at the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Madden was sentenced on charges of residential burglary.  The sentence will run consecutively to a burglary sentence imposed by Vanderburgh County.

The State filed charges against Madden on April 10, 2012 after an investigation into eight residential break-ins that occurred in September and October 2011 in Newburgh.

Newburgh woman who embezzled from Eastern Star gets probation

A Newburgh woman, accused of embezzling almost $300,000 from a non-profit, is sentenced to probation.  That's according to our media partner, WIKY.

Susan Hilgeman, 37, was arrested in April on federal charges of filing false tax returns.

She will have to pay almost $63,000 in restitution to the Evansville 555 Order of the Eastern Star, a group affiliated with the Masons.

Reward offered in missing turkey case

The McDaniel family is asking for help after a decorative turkey was taken from their son's grave on Tuesday. 

Christopher McDaniel says his wife Kristi stopped by the Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler Tuesday morning. The three foot wooden turkey with the inscription "Happy Turkey Day, Blake" was on their son's grave.

When she went back later that afternoon, she says the turkey was gone.

ISP still looking for suspect in hit and run death of Boonville man

Wednesday night at approximately 7:51 p.m. CDT the Tell City Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a crash on I-64 at mile post 73.5 westbound. Indiana State Police say Kenneth G. Derr, 64, Boonville and his brother Michael W. Derr, 69, Evansville had pulled off onto the north shoulder to change a flat tire on their trailer.

The flat tire was on the left (driver’s) side of the trailer.  Kenneth was in the process of changing the tire when a dark colored, believed to be an older model dark blue small pick-up truck or passenger car crossed over the fog line and hit Kenneth.  Then without stopping the suspect vehicle continued west on I-64.

Two jailed on meth charges

A 37-year-old Warrick County woman and a 24-year-old Evansville man were arrested on meth making charges Wednesday night.

Evansville Police say they were alerted to a home at 649 E. Maryland Street where a caller said a two-liter bottle was smoking.

Officers say when the door opened, they could see a hazy white smoke and smelled chemicals.
