Warrick Co. Summer Feeding program returns in 2013

 

The Warrick County School Corporation Food & Nutrition Department will be participating in the Summer Feeding Program again this year.

Funded annually by the USDA, the program allows schools to provide free breakfast and lunch during the summer to anyone age 18 and younger at areas in the district in which the student population is at least 50% free or reduced. 

This year there will be five Summer Feeding Sites open.

Free Safe Sleep Kits through Cribs for Kids Program

 

The Abba Clinic at Hope Central has teamed up with Cribs for Kids to make Safe Sleep Kits available to families who need a safe place for their baby to sleep.

Each Safe Sleep Kit includes a pack-n-play, crib, sheet, sleep sack for the infant and a pacifier. To qualify for the program, participants must watch an educational DVD and participate in a short survey and sign a waiver. The Safe Sleep Kits are free and available to any family in need that does not currently have a safe crib for their baby. Prenatal families may also apply.

Hope Central and MDwise are hosting a Community Resource Fair on Monday, April 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hope Central, 304 N 2nd Street, Boonville.

This event will offer an opportunity to learn about the various services being offered in the community.

A representative will be on hand to enroll individuals in the Hoosier Healthwise or the Healthy Indiana Program.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is CHS choir fundraiser

The Castle Show Choirs will sponsor the annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny fundraiser Saturday, March 23 in the C.H.S. cafeteria. There will be 2 seatings - 8 and 10 a.m.

The event will feature a pancake/sausage breakfast, pictures with the bunny, Easter basket auction, treat bags for kids, live entertainment, and much more.

Admission is $6.00 for ages 13 and up, $5.00 for kids ages 2-12, and free for kids under 2 years old.

Hope Central will be offering a free eight-week Dave Ramsey Finance Class (Foundations in Personal Finance). It will meet on Tuesdays starting April 23 from 5PM-7PM at Hope Central 304 N 2nd Street Boonville.

Spring Farm Fest takes you back in Ind. history

Angel Mounds' newest event, Spring Farm Fest is taking you back in time.

The event is Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The fest will give you and your family an inside look at Indiana farming through the ages. There will be many booths with activites like woodworking, candle dipping, pioneer farming, spinning and weaving, meat smoking, quilting techniques, soap making, corn husk doll making, and much more.
