Rivertown Antiques still looking for buyer

Rivertown Antiques still looking for buyer

The owners of the building that houses Rivertown Antiques are still hoping someone steps forward to buy the historic structure.

Owners Ken and Leanna Hughes say they're closing their business and hoping to sell to a younger buyer willing to care for the building that has been a fixture in the historic downtown area of Newburgh.

For years, the couple did the maintenance on the structure, including plumbing work, roofing, laying floors and numerous other tasks, but Leanna says they're at a stage in their lives where that's become difficult.

Nearly one in ten households in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District reported difficulty accessing affordable fresh fruits and vegetables in the communities where they live, according to Feeding Indiana’s Hungry.  The 9.6% rate is is above the state average of 8.5% and the national average of 8.2 percent for the same 2008-2010 time frame of the study.    For households with children, 10.9% reported difficulty.
