Warrick Co. deputies investigating thefts | News
WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE)- Unlocked cars and garages are the target of thieves in Warrick County, and the sheriff's office is investigating.
Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse said most of the thefts occurred in the neighborhoods on Epworth Road between Lincoln Avenue and 662. But in several cases, those thieves didn't even have to break in.
Officials said in many cases, cars were left unlocked or garages left open. To thieves, it's like an open invitation.
Neighbors said they've installed security systems to protect their homes and now they'll have to be more careful with their cars.
In one case, state police said a 22 caliber revolver was stolen from a truck parked in a driveway.
Some neighbors, however, said they've fallen victim to theft before and they're taking precautions.
