INDOT to install new signal heads in Newburgh | News
The Indiana Department of Transportation is advising motorists there will be temporary lane restrictions on State Road 66 in Newburgh.
On Thursday, August 22, INDOT traffic crews will be installing new signal heads on S.R. 66 at three intersections, Casey Road, Lincoln Avenue and Sharon Road. The new signals will now include protected/permissive left turn movements at the intersections. Previously, signals only allowed left turns on green arrow only.
By allowing permissive left turn movements (left turn on solid green must yield to oncoming traffic) INDOT says traffic flow on S.R. 66 will be more efficient.
Restrictions will begin after the morning commute and it is anticipated all work will be complete prior to evening rush hour.
