Facebook comments bring law enforcement officers to Boonville High | News
A Boonville High School student is being investigated by school officials and law enforcement for an alleged threat that he made over Facebook in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting.
School officials learned of a threat on the school on Thursday, Dec. 20, resulting in officers from the Boonville Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office on guard at the school the next day.
“Kids just need to understand — given the environment in schools and the emphasis on school safety right now — when they make those kinds of threats and allegations, even if they do so in jest or jokingly, now is not the time,” said Warrick County School Superintendent Brad Schneider.
