Incident Command System course offered to emergency responders

The ICS 300 NIMS course is being offered to all emergency responders in District 10 which includes Dubois, Daviess, Martin, Knox, Pike, Perry, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, Crawford, Posey and Spencer counties. This course is designed to enable senior staff personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). This course focuses on management of expanding incidents and was developed under the leadership of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group and complies with the NIMS/HSPD-5 requirements for Incident Command System training.

The prerequisite to enroll in this course is verified completion of IS-700.a; IS-100.b; and IS-200.b. These courses can be found at http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp.

To register for this course please email Brady Helms at swifthwk@gmail.com with your name, agency and phone number. You will need to provide copies of your certifications from IS-700.a; IS-100.b; and IS-200.b

The course is being held at Southwest School corporation Administrative Office at 113 N Jackson St; Huntingburg on April 6 & 7, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. There is no fee for this course.

Deadline for registration is April 3, 2013 Participants who actively participate and attend all course contact hours and pass a written test will receive a Certificate of Completion for this course.
