Will the trolley help traffic?

Will the trolley help traffic?

As area high schools have their proms, places like the Newburgh riverfront see an influx of people.

Newburgh Town Manager Lori Buehlman says high school dances bring many students and their families out to mingle and take pictures.

To alleviate some traffic because of limited parking, Buehlman says Newburgh will run the town's trolley during such events.

The town council voted to use the trolley this weekend when students from Memorial and Boonville will be in the area for prom pictures. Buehlman tells 14 News that a nearby parking lot will be the pick up spot.

Vectren has unveiled a new electric energy efficiency program today tailored specifically for small business electric customers in its southwestern Indiana service territory. The new program consists of an on-site energy assessment and direct install of several energy efficiency measures, including LED bulbs, energy-saving faucet aerators, vending machine sensors and pre-rinse sprayers, at no direct cost to the customer. The assessment, which is conducted by a professional energy advisor, and the direct install effort are valued at $300.

Following the assessment, the customer will get a detailed report of how their building and equipment use energy and improvements that can be made to reduce energy consumption. If new measures are recommended, such as replacing lighting systems or installing new refrigeration equipment, Vectren will provide instant discounts of up to 50 percent off the cost, up to $10,000, of the recommended upgrades. Customers are under no obligation to install any of the identified energy-saving products or improvements, however.
