Boil advisory for part of Lynnville

A boil advisory is in effect for both sides of Highway 61, north of Terry Lane, according to the Lynnville Water Utility.

Due to a break in water service, residents in the area are advised to boil their water for at least five minutes before drinking or cooking.

USI program aimed at helping local businesses break out

In partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Division of Outreach and Engagement at the University of Southern Indiana will offer a second BreakOut Program to eight area small businesses. With grant dollars from the USDA Rural Development Office, the program will provide high-level resources to businesses to help them build on their successes and “break out” to the next level.

Deputies: Man arrested for alleged sexual assault

VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE)-

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Deputies say a Newburgh man has been arrested on multiple felony charges, following an alleged sexual assault at a business in Vanderburgh County.

Deputies say 32-year-old Shaun Hollander was arrested at a local attorney's office after a victim came forward last week saying she had been sexually assaulted by Hollander at their place of employment.

Santa Claus biz owner arrested on battery charge

WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE)-

A misdemeanor battery charge was filed on Tuesday in Warrick County against a well-known businessman.

Phillip Koch is the President of Ho-Ho-Holdings LLC, based in Santa Claus. Koch was arrested last Monday and booked into the Warrick County Jail. He posted bail about nine hours later.

Now, he's looking at a misdemeanor charge of battery. Koch is accused of attacking the woman he lives with at their home.

Warrick Co. accident causes delays on I-64

WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE)-

A traffic accident around mile marker 50 on Interstate 64 backed up drivers Tuesday morning.

Warrick County Dispatch say the accident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. They say an overturned semi near the Dale Exit had caused miles of backup.

Dispatchers say all lanes have now reopened.

Newburgh stores help consumers shop small

NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE)-

The numbers are in, and this Black Friday weekend a busy one for big retail stores. Small Businesses around the Tri-State also participated in Small Business Saturday.

A lot of people on the streets of downtown Newburgh helped to make this
weekend a profitable one for business owners like Sue Morrison.

Morrison owns Sunburst Stained Glass in Newburgh.

She said they were very busy Friday and Saturday but she was hesitant to
attribute the flow in business to Small Business Saturday.

NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE)-

Instead of hitting the commercial stores on Saturday, many local shoppers turned to small businesses for their holiday shopping.

Nation-wide, stores are participating in Small Business Saturday to keep money in the local economy.

Gina McCalister, Owner of Mulberry Jean's Accents says, "Mom and pop's, they're diminishing all the time, so the best way for that to stop happening is for everybody to shop at a small business."
