Special exhibits at Newburgh Museum

Special exhibits at Newburgh Museum

The Newburgh Museum’s exhibit of Evansville & Ohio Valley Traction station and Newburgh related wedding artifacts will continue until June 29.  The exhibit includes old Newburgh wedding licenses, photos, wedding gifts and other wedding related items. This exhibit runs alongside the Evansville and Ohio Valley Traction Station (a type of train depot) exhibit.

The traction station exhibit is modeled after an early photograph of the Newburgh depot.  The exhibit depicts the interior of the Newburgh train depot as it might have appeared in 1908.

Fireworks and Fiddler Fest...Winning combo?

Fireworks and Fiddler Fest...Winning combo?

They were a no-go on the 4th of July but the fireworks and Fiddler Fest seemed to be a hit.

Our media partners at WIKY report that there's discussion of keeping the two events together in future years.

Thousands gathered at the Old Lock and Dam for the fireworks Friday night.  Set to music, the show was viewed as a positive accompaniment to the catfish fiddler dinners and other festival foods and got the weekend off to a big start.
