Give Back Day benefits childhood cancer research

Schmitt Catering and Rose Hill Café are sponsoring the Childhood Cancer Research Give Back Day to be held on February 23  - 6am to 6pm. Rose Hill Café is located at 8133 Rose Hill Rd in Newburgh.

10% of the day’s sales to benefit CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. Also in attendance will be Silly Willy the Clown.

Eat a Pizza King stromboli, help local charities

Area Pizza King Restaurants are teaming up with 911 Gives Hope and the Boys and Girls Club to raise money for local children. 

The 2012 “Stromfest” is underway and will continue until Saturday September 29. A portion of every strom sold will go to 911 Gives Hope and the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville.

Donate $1 at any Pizza King and you will be entered into a drawing to win a free strom a week for a full year.

Donate $5 and you will be entered into the drawing 6 times.

Ohio Township and Newburgh Volunteer Fire Departments have teamed up with Dairy Queen to raise money.

Mention the fundraiser at the Newburgh DQ Grill & Chill on Monday, Sept. 17 between 4pm and 9pm.

The fire departments will receive 10% from all orders during this time period.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Jake’s Wayback Burgers on Crosspointe Blvd in Evansville, you can have dinner and help the Castle band at the same time.

From 4-8 p.m., Jake’s will donate 20% of sales to the Castle Band program.  Just be sure to mention you’re there for the band when placing your order at the counter.

$2 to Riley Hospital gives you free Frosty desserts for year

Customers at participating Wendy’s restaurants in the Evansville  area can get free Jr. Frosty desserts through December 30, 2012 while supporting Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

From now through June 30 (or while supplies last), customers can purchase a Frosty key tag for $2, then show the key tag on subsequent visits to Wendy’s and receive a free Jr. Frosty with any purchase as often as they wish through December 31, 2012. Wendy’s will donate the net proceeds of key tag sales to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. Riley Hospital requires significant and broad-based financial support to sustain and expand groundbreaking, life-saving treatment and research, facilities and accessibility.

Edgewater Grille plans to re-open Thursday

The Edgewater Grille sustained roof damage during what's believed to be a tornado.  However, crews were busy by mid-morning, attempting to repair it so the popular restaurant along the Ohio River could re-open, possibly as early as Thursday morning at 10.

 

New business coming to the Newburgh riverfront

New business coming to the Newburgh riverfront

NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE)- In Warrick County, plans are underway for a new chocolate, cheese and wine bar on the Riverfront in Newburgh.

The owners of Café Arazu have purchased the lot right behind them towards the riverfront.

They say they will tear down the church currently there and build a new structure in its place with two condo's and a restaurant beneath.

It will be accessible through the Rivertown Trail and will also feature rooftop and outdoor seating.
